Dial a Driver Independent Contractor Agreement Highlights

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Dial a Driver Partner. By signing up, you agree to the following key terms of our Independent Contractor Agreement:

The Services You Provide:

  • As a Dial a Driver Partner, you’ll act as an independent contractor, transporting vehicles and their passengers based on bookings received through our online platform or dispatch system.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a valid New Zealand Passenger (P) Endorsement driver’s license.
  • Operate a safe and reliable vehicle, meeting all legal requirements.
  • Provide excellent customer service with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Follow Dial a Driver’s policies and safety protocols (outlined in a separate Driver Safety Manual).
  • Respond promptly to booking requests.
  • Maintain a clean and smoke-free vehicle environment.
  • Present yourself professionally while on duty.
  • Utilize the Dial a Driver mobile app to manage bookings.
  • Report accidents, incidents, or vehicle issues immediately.
  • Represent Dial a Driver positively and avoid actions damaging their reputation.
  • Drive responsibly, avoiding behaviors like speeding or reckless driving.

Liability

  • Contractor assumes primary liability: As an independent contractor, you are primarily liable for your actions and any damages caused while performing services for Dial a Driver. This includes, but is not limited to, accidents resulting from your negligence (e.g., speeding, reckless driving, driving under the influence).
  • Potential financial penalties: In the event of an accident deemed to be caused by your negligence, you may be subject to a financial penalty. This could include a portion of the insurance excess fees associated with the accident. The specific amount will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
  • Company maintains general liability insurance: The Company maintains comprehensive general liability insurance coverage for its operations. However, this insurance may not cover all situations, and you may be held financially responsible for certain damages.

Compensation:

  • You’ll be compensated based on a predetermined fee structure This may include per hour basic or per km basis.. We reserve the right to adjust the fee structure with reasonable notice.

Independent Contractor Status:

  • You acknowledge and agree to be an independent contractor, not an employee of Dial a Driver. You are responsible for all taxes, social security contributions, and other deductions associated with your earnings. You are also responsible for providing your own vehicle, insurance, fuel, and any other necessary equipment for performing services.
